What is the IEEE 1149.6 Standard?
The IEEE Standard 1149.6 refers to the “boundary scan testing of advanced digital networks” but is more popularly known as the Dot6 or AC ‘extest’ standard.
The IEEE Std 1149.6 is an extension to IEEE Std 1149.1 which specifies software and boundary scan description language (BSDL) extensions required to support the advanced digital networks, which are also known as low voltage differential signals (LVDS).
Figure 1 shows an example of a basic IEEE Std 1149.6 compliant device with basic differential AC signal path using a bias network.
