What does the LGA option on the N6751A and N6752A modules offer?

The LGA option is strongly recommended on the N6751A/52A modules. The LGA option stands for Large Gate Array. When installed, this option permits these modules to have additional firmware capabilities that will not fit in the smaller, original gate array installed in modules without the LGA option. So, the modules will not have full functionality unless the LGA option is installed. Having the LGA option on the N6751A/52A modules enable the following functionalities on the N6705A mainframe:

  1. Current measurement compensation mode to compensate for current flowing into the capacitor at the output stage of the power supply during dynamic current events.
  2. In scope mode, the ability to trigger on a voltage level or a current level
  3. Cross frame synchronization for using output sequencing across multiple N6705A main frames

Having the LGA feature on the N6751A/N6752A modules when installed in the N6700B, N6701A, and N6702A mainframes offers the following features:

  1. Current measurement compensation mode to compensate for current flowing into the capacitor at the output stage of the power supply during dynamic current events.
  2. Cross Frame Synchronization for using output sequencing across multiple N6700 mainframes

The LGA option now comes standard on all N6751/52A modules. The LGA option adds no additional cost to the module.

If you install an N6751A/52A module without LGA in a mainframe, the module will work properly, but the aforementioned features will not be available.
