What is the meaning of the error message "14 DATA ACQUISITION PROBLEM" displayed on the 86120B/C?

"E-14 DATA ACQUISITION PROBLEM" is displayed if the 86120B/C cannot detect the internal HeNe Laser during its self-test.

This error is caused by the age of the HeNe laser in the 86120B/C. The laser requires more time to turn on than what the self-test has given it. There are instances that the you may be able to get the unit back up and running by waiting a couple of minutes after the error message presents itself, and pressing the PRESET key. If no error is present, it looks like you have temporarily fixed the problem.
