· Advantages of Agilent Training
Audience: Engineers and technicians responsible for developing Agilent 3070 board test programs.
New Test Program Developers: Gain an understanding of the test development process and the Agilent 3070 file structure. Learn how to develop a board test from CAD translation through long term ECO support of the board through its life cycle including multiple boards versions. Learn how to debug unpowered in-circuit tests including testjet. Learn how to develop and debug customer digital, analog functional, mixed in-circuit and cluster (node library) tests. Learn the basics of Flash RAM programming and a single device Boundary-Scan test.
What you will Learn- Develop a test on the Agilent 3070 using the basic Agilent 3070 tools.
- Maintain a test when Engineering Change Orders are issued.
- Modify your test fixture in response to an Engineering Change.
- Develop and debug the following tests: Pins, Shorts, Analog Incircuit, TestJet and Setup Power Supplies.
- Develop Digital Incircuit tests from standard libraries.
- Use Agilent's CAMCAD CAD translator.
- Use Fixture Consultant.
- Gain a better understanding of how the Agilent 3070 processes your inputs into executable tests.
- Write Digital Incircuit and Cluster Tests utilizing Vector Control Language and Pattern Capture Format.
- Write and debug Analog Functional and Mixed Signal Tests.
Prerequisites- A basic understanding of electronics and some programming experience.
Outline- Week 1
- A quick overview of test concepts, the Agilent 3070 hardware and software.
- Develop the "config" file - a software description of the test hardware.
- Begin development on the Angela Board by discussing the translation process and translating CAD files.
- Complete the board description using Agilent Board Consultant, the Part Description Editor.
- Generate and evaluate the "testability.rpt" file.
- Discuss the test fixture and use the fixture verification tools.
- Turn-on each test type starting with the unpowered test techniques: Pins, Shorts, Analog Incircuit and Agilent TestJet.
- Continue with the powered tests: Digital Incircuit and Analog Functional.
- Learn to release the test to production. How to modify the test when the printed circuit board undergoes an engineering change.
- Repeat the entire process on the Class Board.
- Some details that were only touched during the Angela Board's development will be discussed at length.
- Use Fixture Consultant.
- Week 2
- Develop a test for the Combination Board.
- Reuse the "config" file developed last week.
- Complete the board description using the Parts Description Library, Digital Setup Editor and Board Consultant.
- Generate tests and verify coverage using Agilent IPG Test Consultant and the "testability.rpt" report.
- Turn-on and debug Pre-Shorts, Pins, Shorts and Analog Incircuit .
- Discuss Digital and Analog Functional tests.
- Turn-on and debug Digital and Analog Functional tests.
- While waiting for the testhead, develop a test for the Flash Board.
- Discuss how to write a VCL test and Mixed Signal Tests.
- Discuss Digital Cluster Testing.
- Write a VCL test and a cluster test.
- Turn-on and debug powered tests.
- Self-Paced Labs in the Review Module for you to review in your own time.
