Agilent Technologies offers this 3-day course presenting simulation methodologies and measurements on high-speed data signals. Topics include time- and frequency-domain simulations in ADS (Advanced Design System), the ADS convolution engine, using electromagnetic simulators for creating models in the frequency-domain, time-domain reflectometry, crosstalk and coupling.

Lo que aprenderá

  • A brief introduction to ADS is presented, showing schematic capture, simulation setup and display of results
  • Time-domain and frequency-domain simulations are reviewed, including the convolution engine
  • Use of transmission lines and a review of transmission-line models available in ADS
  • Simulation and measurement setups are presented, including crosstalk/coupling, TDR and TDT
  • Accounting for noise and jitter in ADS simulations and measurements and their effects on the eye-diagram
  • Mixed-Mode S-parameters (Differential, Common and Single-Ended Modes) - what they are and how to measure them
  • Simulation setups are presented, including conversations from mixed-mode to single-ended and vice-versa
  • A special chapter is dedicated to creating S-parameter models using Momentum (3D Planar EM simulations)

Requisitos previos

  • Good understanding of the time-domain simulation and relationships between time-domain and frequency-domain (impulse-response versus frequency-response)
  • Good understanding of design principles and measurement techniques
