Custom OFDM: Understanding Signal Generation and Analysis

OFDM (orthogonal frequency division multiplex) signals provide a combination of spectral efficiency, flexibility, and real-world robustness that have made them the best choice for many current and emerging commercial standards. To bring these benefits to new applications engineers will need tools for choosing the optimum signal characteristics, and for generating and analyzing the signals themselves. This presentation will cover algorithmic, design, and measurement challenges and will discuss specific design techniques and tools. The presentation will also include an overview of OFDM basics and typical impairments, illustrated with examples from several commercial OFDM standards.
