Abstract:

Rapid innovation and differentiation are the key competing factors in RF and Microwave industry. RF/analogue and digital designers have typically worked in separate domains, enabling them to be productive in their own environments. For decades analog engineers and digital designers have worked in isolation. With the requirement of high speed networking and communications network having small form-factor and low power consumption, it is becoming almost mandatory for these areas to merge together. This has lead to invent of Mixed Signal RFICs. The increasing complexity of today’s Mixed Signal RFICs goes with increasing needs in RFIC verification to ensure its functionality. Mixed-signal RFIC testing pose major cost and quality challenges. This paper discusses the major challenges faced by Mixed Signal RFIC designers and industry leading solutions to address these challenges.
