Front-to-back RFIC & MMIC design flow workshops
There are 2 workshops listed below. You must enroll for each seperately.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Workshop 1:
Demonstration of Cree’s GaN HEMT MMIC PDK using ADS 2011
Enroll here for workshop 1. You will receive confirmation email upon submitting enrollment.
When/Where:
June 20, 2012 / 11:00 am – 12:30 pm
Palais des congrès de Montréal
Room: 518A/B, Level 5 (floor plan )
What is the workshop about:
GaN on SiC has superior properties, including higher breakdown voltage, higher saturated electron drift velocity and higher thermal conductivity, when compared to other semiconductor materials. GaN HEMTs offer greater power density over wider bandwidths than alternative technologies. Cree offers custom MMIC foundry services for use of their state-of-the-art GaN on SiC HEMT process, with industry leading performance, highly accurate non-linear models, and proven reliability for today’s challenging applications.
In order to more easily, quickly, and successfully design with the Cree GaN on SiC processes, it is highly beneficial to have a Process Design Kit supporting a full front-to-back design flow including scalable non linear models, parametric layout cells and design rule checks (DRC). The workshop will walk users through representative MMIC design examples using Cree’s latest ADS 2011 PDK.
What you will learn:
PDK enabled front-to-back MMIC design flow based on a representative design example
Who should attend:
MMIC Designer working on high-power, high-frequency applications
Presenters:
Thomas Smith, CREE and Juergen Hartung, Agilent Technologies

Workshop 2:
Complete mmWave Design Flow and Modeling Solutions Integrated with TowerJazz’s High-Frequency Specialty Foundry Design Kits
Enroll here for workshop 2. You will receive confirmation email upon submitting enrollment.
When/Where
June 20, 2012 / 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm
Palais des congrès de Montréal
Room: 518A/B, Level 5 (floor plan )
What is the workshop about:
There is a strong demand for broadband mm-wave products for front-end modules such as SOI antenna switches or SiGe power amplifiers as well as high-frequency products for optical networks, automotive, radar and 60 GHz WiFi. But for commercial applications, a cost effective process technology along with a state-of-the-art design flow is required. This workshop describes the collaborative efforts between TowerJazz and Agilent in order to provide certified millimeter wave-ready PDKs targeting this application space. The workshop will walk through a complete design flow based on a sample reference design that helps customers design high-frequency, high-bandwidth wireless ICs with confidence.
What you will learn:
PDK enabled front-to-back RFIC design flow based on a representative LNA design example
Who should attend:
RFIC Designer working on high-frequency applications
Presenters:
Scott Jordan, TowerJazz and Juergen Hartung, Agilent Technologies
