Find Information on Hardware Upgrades, Instrument Software, etc....

FAQ 2013-05-09

1세대 MXG 인 N5181A 또는 N5182A를 X-Series 신호 발생기인 N5181B 또는 N5182B로 업그레이드 할 수 있을까요?
불가능합니다.

FAQ 2013-02-04

For User channel correction calibration, when frequency is tuned out of “user” correction frequency range, is factory correction applied?
Yes, we apply smoothing between cal arrays to ensure no discontinuity.

FAQ 2012-12-26

How long is the factory channel correction calibration good?
The factory channel correction lasts the life of the source.

FAQ 2012-12-26

Do temperature changes affect the factory channel correction calibration?
temperature changes, channel correction calibration, factory correction calibration,x-series signal generators

FAQ 2012-12-26

Which USB power sensors are supported on the X-Series signal generators?
All Agilent U200xx USB power sensors are supported. in the future, ...

FAQ 2012-12-26

Is there SCPI code compatibility from the 8662A or 8663A to the X-Series signal generators?
Yes

FAQ 2012-12-26

Are there any S1 S2 measurements with power sensors on the X-Series signal generators?
No, however, the “User” channel correction routine in X-Series vector signal generators measures DUT channel response in phase and amplitude with power sensor.

FAQ 2012-12-26

When you perform the User channel correction routine, do you need to compensate for the cable between spectrum analyzer or power meter and source?
No, the cable error has been calibrated.

FAQ 2012-12-26

For User channel correction calibration, is it better to do a spot user cal or over an overlapping range?
Overlapping is good idea, but not required.

FAQ 2012-12-26

How does DC calibration affect channel corrections?
If a DC calibration is run with channel corrections applied, this may or may not degrade performance slightly.

FAQ 2012-12-26

Do User channel corrections cover multiple attenuator steps?
Yes. Bypass step, 0 dB step, and 5 dB step.

FAQ 2012-12-26

Can running user correction calibration over a narrower range improve calibration?
No, the number of points is always fixed at a 5 MHz interval

FAQ 2012-12-26

Does N5181B or N5182B MXG Option UNY/UNX have backward code compatibility with E8663D or 8663D signal generators?
Yes, the N5181B and N5182B MXG Option UNY/UNX has the same SCPI as PSG E8663D. E8663D is the replacement of 8663D with BWCC (backward code compatibility).

FAQ 2012-10-25

Can MXG or EXG support more than 2 USB power sensors?
EXG and MXG X-Series signal generators are only able to display the measurements from 2 USB sensors at the same time. Up to 4 USB sensors can be connected (since we have 4 USB ports on N5181B, N5182B, N5171B, N5172B), but only 2 are actively displayed simultaneously. The user would have to swap in/out the USB sensors that they want to read, via the front panel or SCPI.

FAQ 2012-10-25

Are the X-Series signal generators ROHS compliant?
Yes, they are ROHS compliant.

FAQ 2012-04-30

Is the tuning speed the same as switching speed on the X-Series signal generators?
Yes, switching speed is the same as tuning speed.

FAQ 2012-04-30

Are the function generators all inside the MXG and EXG X-Series signal generators?
Yes, with Option 303, multifunction generator. See the data sheets for full capabilities.

FAQ 2012-04-30

Will there be drivers available for the N5181B or N5182B X-Series signal generators?
Yes, 32 and 64 Bit IVI com, IVI C and MATLAB drivers are available. LabView driver is planned for late 2012.

FAQ 2012-04-30

What is the size and format of the removable memory (SD card) on the X-Series signal generators?
8 GB SD card, RAW storage. This is available with Option 006 instrument security and removable memory card.

FAQ 2012-04-30

Do we offer an external divider option to cover the heterodyne band phase noise performance on the X-Series signal generators?
We have the 70429A-K95 divider that can be used as an external divider for frequencies <250 MHz.

FAQ 2012-04-30

Does Option 320 require that I have Option UNU or UNW on the X-Series signal generators?
Yes, Option 320, pulse train generator, requires Option UNW, narrow pulse modulation. Option UNU, pulse modulation, is not an option on the X-Series signal generators.

FAQ 2012-04-30

Does Option UNY, enhanced low phase noise, require Option UNX, low phase noise,on the X-Series signal generators?
No, they are independent options with different levels of phase noise performance above 3 GHz.

FAQ 2012-04-30

Does Option UNU, pulse modulation, exist on the X-Series signal generators?
No, Option UNW, narrow pulse, is the only pulse option.

FAQ 2012-04-30

Is the output power improved on the X-Series signal generators?
Yes, specified output power changed from +23 dBm to +24 dBm for MXG. For both MXG and EXG X-Series signal generators, standard output power has improved significantly. See the data sheet for more details.
