How can I get 1 GHz modulation bandwidth below 3.2 GHz?
There is a special option that down converts the wideband signal. It is: E8267D Option H1S PSG with 1 GHz out for use by the Z5623AK92 down converter, 500 MHz – 3.2 GHz.

What is the internal Arb trigger delay jitter?
The internal Arb trigger delay is generated using a free running oscillator.

Should the N7620B Signal Studio for Pulse Building software always use the N6030A arbitrary waveform generator built-in predistortion function?
Yes, the N6030A predistortion function works very well and should always be used.

|
Do corrections work with frequency and amplitude offsets?
Yes, however, the amplitude flatness accuracy is set by the spectrum analyzer flatness accuracy across the signal bandwidth...

|
How many coefficients should I use for custom FM?
The number of coefficients to use depends on the type of custom FM signal desired. Signal Studio for Pulse Building includes examples where 19 coefficients were used. The software allows as many coefficients as desired. The more coefficients used,...

What are the details related to using the N6030xA/M933xA and N824xA arbitrary waveform generator predistortion?
The built-in predistortion scales the data to guarantee that you never get a DAC over-range condition. Typically, it gives up 2-3 dB of range. This is important because less power out of the N6030A means less leveled output power from the PSG with...

|
Can I renew or extend the 30-day trial license after expiration?
After the trial license expires on an instrument, it cannot be renewed or extended.
FAQ 2012-12-28 |
|
|
How do I switch between trigger modes?
Any change between None, Continuous, or Single trigger mode requires only a "play" to update the Arb. Any change to or from the pulse trigger mode requires a "download and play". You must create a different waveform and sequence data for the pulse trigger mode.

|
How much time/frequency error is introduced by the Custom Profile or Custom I/Q resampling?
After using the formula to calculate the number of resampled data points, work backwards to determine the error.

|
Can multiple software applications communicate with a single N6030A arbitrary waveform generator at the same time?
Only one software application can communicate with the N6030A at a time.

What happens to nested patterns and off-time packets in pulse mode?
Nested patterns are flattened. This means that a single trigger will not play the entire pattern. It merely steps into the pattern and plays the first pulse. The next trigger plays the next pulse, etc. Off-time packets are ignored in pulse mode.

|
What happens when I turn the N6030A arbitrary waveform generator off?
You will probably need to reboot PC if you are using an MXI to PXI interface. All signal data is lost.

Is the performance of 0.4% EVM for 160 MHz 802.11ac best test result or average performance for N5182B MXG or N5172B EXG X-Series signal generators?
0.4% EVM is characteristic data of a small sample of N5182B MXG signal generators using the PXA and VSA 89601B.

Yes. Bypass step, 0 dB step, and 5 dB step.
FAQ 2012-12-26 |
|
|
For User channel correction calibration, is it better to do a spot user cal or over an overlapping range?
Overlapping is good idea, but not required.
FAQ 2012-12-26 |
