How much jitter is there when using an external trigger?
Unless the trigger signal is synchronized to the Arb sample clock, you will see jitter equal to the sample period for the internal Arb and equal to 8 sample periods for the N6030A.

Is there an easy way to save a pulse pattern and send it to another person?
Yes, simply save the entire .pbp or you can export the pattern using the “export pattern” function.

How do I change the 10 MHz reference source if Signal Studio for pulse building doesn’t detect the reference?
Most of the time, Signal Studio will recognize the reference; however, it can be changed in the download -> customize menu.

How is the time remaining for a trial license tracked?
You can track the time remaining on the trial license from the front panel of the ESG/PSG by pressing Utility > Instrument Adjustments > Instrument Options > Waveform Licenses.
FAQ 2012-12-28 |
Why do I want to mirror the spectrum?
Mirror Spectrum reverses the spectrum of the waveform when it is downloaded. This is useful for systems with external upconversion and downconversion where the signal spectrum is mirrored by the conversion process.
