Is anyone aware of any 3rd party software that will bring modern calibration methods (like SOLT, Time domain, etc) capability to an 8720A? I have seen a few recently, but they do not work with the older network analyzers.

Anyone interested, I have been accessing S2P files using a program called "painless extraction" from R.A.Wood

I have also been trying a program called SPviewII from Arc Rf Systems. But it only seems happy if you are using a PCIe NI GPIB card, can not get it to work with my usb agilent GPIB module. It allows some post processing data manipulation, like differential port measurements, port impedance change, etc.

Hi biff44,
The VNA software at www.antune.net is free to try. It should work with your USB-GPIB.
The software is a bit specialized tool for development of embedded antennas by processing S11 data in real time and continuously calculate optimized impedance correction network. It allows you to find antenna+impedance network solutions that else not had been found by just looking at S11 for the antenna alone. Can read/write/manipulate S1P Touchstone and save as jpg and html. It also have some special functions for optimal impedance matching between two complex impedances such as when TX and RX share same antenna but have different impedances.
In this case do I promote my own software, but as I not earn anything, it is free since a long time and until further, do I hope it not should be any problems.
