Hi.

I need to get a model for a PIN diode (HP HSMP-3810) to use in my simulations. Does anybody know how to find good models for components on the internet? Do you have to find a library that includes your desired component or...? And where do you look?

Hi,

have a look at this link:

http://www.avagotech.com/pages/en/rf_ic ... hsmp-3810/

In the middle of the page there's a description of the equivalent spice model.

I discovered the same page earlier, but didn't understand much of it. First of all, I thought Spice were just another simulation program like ADS? Or isn't it?

I tried to see if ADS had a pin diode component with the variables listed in the page you're refering to, but the only one I found was the one in the "Devices-Diodes"-library included in the installed version of ADS:

C:\ADS2008\doc\ccnld\ads2008\PIN_diode_(PIN_Diode).html

That component had 46 different variables and some of the variable names in the page you're refering to isn't mentioned (or maybe has another name)..

So I don't know what to do..

Thanks for the answer.

Hi,

I had a look at some of my projects and found a model for this diode chip itself and the package around it. If you can send me a message with your email adress I could send the project to you.
