N9320B getting trace data through SCPI

I'm having difficulty in getting trace data out of my N9320B. I tried the following two SCPI (I use VISA COM libraries for programming):

1. MMEM:STOR:TRAC ALL,test.csv
I get "Character data not allowed" error.

2. If I try "TRAC:DATA? TRACE1", I do get to read the data. However, it seems like I always get back 461 points. Is there any way to change the number of sweep points?

Hello -

1: Use the command like the one below to save the trace data:

:MMEMory:STORe:TRACe "all","test.csv"

Another example:

:MMEMory:STORe:TRACe "trace1","test.csv"

2: That’s the normal performance because the sweep points number of N9320B is 461, and it can be changed.

Thanks a lot tabbott!

1. I will try the command you mentioned. Can I save the data to a USB drive?
2. Did you mean "it cannot be changed"? That's bad for me (I remember having used "SWE POIN" command in fieldfox 9912A to change the sweep points)

. Is there a way to scan huge chunks, say 100MHz and get the amplitude values say every 50KHz? In fieldfox, you could set the span to 100MHz and sweep points to 2001 for this.

Hi -

1. Yes, you can save the data into a USB device.

First choose the path to USB or Local :MMEMory:DESTination USB

Then, store the trace file into the USB device :MMEM:STOR:TRACe "Trace_Lable","Trace_name.trc"

2. N9320B doesn’t support changing the sweep points.
