I am using E8362B with all options except noise figure options. i read help file unfortunately , i am not very clear what is exact criteria to set limits of power sweep . e.g -87 to -67dBm works then 67-47 and so on . normally i use different channels for this. kindly tell me exact spans in which i can cover -87 to -2dBm or +5dBm with the usage of minimum no of Channels/power sweeps. & resolution of Power in my case.

The electronic power range of the source in an E8362B can be found on page 13 of the data sheet. It varies from 27 to 30 dB, depending on the CW frequency. This is the maximum range that can used for a power sweep. So, in order to sweep a range of 85 dB, you would need 3 or 4 channels (depending on the CW frequency), each with a different source attenuator value. Note that with Options UNL and 014, the maximum power you can achieve at 20 GHz is -4 dBm. Any loss of the test cable on port 1 further lowers this value.
