Hi,

I have installed LabVIEW on the 80804B oscilloscope and I am trying to use its GPIB port to communicate woth LabVIEW to control some other devices like power supplies etc.

However, the VISA (both Agilent and NI) do not show the device. I tried updating the Agilent I/O libraries to version 16.2.
Agilent connection expert doesn't show up the GPIB card itself even though it shows up in device manager.

Any suggestions?

Agiletn does not support installing LV or NI VISA on Agiletn HW. Installing LV and NI VISA on the scope pretty much broke everything. I am a little surprised the scope sw still runs.

a windows recovery on the scope MAY be in order. maybe not.

if that don't work, u will needto do a recovery, methinks:

Where do the cal file and license file live on my 54850 Series & 80000A/B Series oscilloscope?
C:\scope\cal\framecal.dat <- it is usually best to grab the whole folder
C:\scope\bin\license.dat
You may have to select “view hidden files and folders” in folder options to view these files.

How do I perform a Windows recovery on my 80000A/B Series oscilloscope?
(p 106, or 3-61 of Quickstart Guide)
To recover your Infiniium hard disk:
The Infiniium hard disk recovery system is contained in a hidden partition on the Infiniium hard disk. If you have to use the recovery system, the Infiniium hard disk is returned to the condition it was in when it left the factory.

0 Be sure to backup any data and setup files, as well as the cal and license files. It is usually best to save the whole cal directory.
1 Turn off the Infiniium.
2 Connect the keyboard to the keyboard connector on the rear panel of the oscilloscope.
3 Connect the mouse to the mouse connector on the rear panel of the oscilloscope.
4 Turn on the Infiniium.
5 When the Splash screen (Figure 3-43) appears, hold down one of the control (Ctrl) keys.
6 Once the Recovery Screen (Figure 3-44) appears you can release the control key.
7 Copy and paste calibration and license files back into the same directory from which they came
8 Update windows to at least Service pack 2, and install the latest Infiniium software.

How do I install new Infiniium firmware on my 54850 Series & 80000A/B Series oscilloscope?
1 Download the latest firmware to the oscilloscope desktop.
2 Exit the oscilloscope application. Do not just minimize it.
3 In Windows Control Panel, go to Add/Remove software.
4 Uninstall any MATLAB runtime components.
5 Uninstall the current Infiniium application.
6 REBOOT the oscilloscope. Do not just log off.
7 Double click the Infiniium setup file to install it and accept the license terms.
8 REBOOT the oscilloscope. Do not just log off.
