Waveguide definitions for 8722ES

Does anyone have at least typical standard definitions disk files for 8722ES analyzer?
I'm looking for files to K11644A and R11644A waveguide kits which should work
with 40GHz 8722ES VNA. K11644A and R11644A user manuals has only tables
for 8510 and PNA series analyzer.

Look up the cal kit model number here:
http://na.tm.agilent.com/pna/caldefs/stddefs.html

Click on the link in the "872xD" column - you will see a table of values, and also a download link. 872xD and 872xES files are compatible, so you can load these directly into your analyzer.

I downloaded those definiton files and it seems that K11644A (18GHz-26.5Ghz) works perfectly.
R11644A files works too, but instrument state is wrong. After loading, 8722ES start and stop
frequencies are strangely 20.5GHz. Is it fine, if i modify intrument state file and set start freq to 26.5GHz
and stop freq to 40GHz?

Should be fine, I wonder if that got saved that way from an 8720 state. Of course, you can't really use R-band with an 8720 either.

Definitions seems to work now someway, but if i want make 2-port TRL calibration it propose me to use sliding loads
when i select Line/Match option, why so? If i have understood right Line/Match should make thru measurement
and inform me to put 1/4 shim between port 1 and port 2.

One another thing. Why R-kit not include anykind of waveguide to 2.4mm Coaxial adapters? Without those test port
adapters kit is useless. I know, that proper adapters can buy separetly like Agilent R281A and R281B but userguide
not speak anything from them.

If someone has made definition files (K and R kits) for 8722ES model. Plese let me know.

X11664A TRL for 8720.zip (26.5 KB)

The waveguide kits <26GHz (X,P,K11644A) do include adapters. None of the higher frequency kits include adapters - I am not sure why...

The WG cal kits contain hardware that can be used for either SOLT or TRL/TRM calibrations.

The kit definitions for 8720-series analyzers are set up for SOLT calibrations. There are reasons for this:
First, standard 8720 analyzers do not have the 4 receivers needed for a true TRL/LRM type calibration - they use "TRL*" which makes some assumptions that can compromise results. So, SOLT usually works better for a standard 8720 analyzer.
Second, 8720 analyzers have a firmware limitation - it is not practical to combine SOLT and TRL calibrations in a single definition. see here for more info:

Now, there was an option (option 400 and some other Hxx specials) that gave you the hardware to perform a "true" TRL calibration. If you have this option on your analyzer, you might want a different cal kit definition for TRL.

I don't have these set up for all the kits. I do have a TRL definition for the X11644A WR90 kit. See the .zip file attached to this message. Use this as an example. I don't have access to an 8722 here, so I can't set up the higher frequency kits for you. But it is not that big a job - you just need to rearrange the class assignments to make TRL work.

Note that the current PNA or ENA analyzers do not have either the hardware OR the firmware limitation.
