Install Testexec 6.1 with Windows 7

Hello,

I'm currently having problems installing Testexec 6.1 on a Windows 7 based computer.
As the Setup programm starts, it crashes while preparing the installation.

I tried different Windows compatibility settings but I alway receive the message:
"An incorrect operating has been detected. TestExec requires at least Windows XP with service pack 2 or Windows 2000 with service pack 4. The installation program will halt. Please install the correct operating system version"

I tried the compatibility with Windows XP service Pack 2 & Pack 3, Windows 2000, Windows NT but none of them worked.

I also tried to install the Evaluation version for Testexec 7 on this computer and the same problem happens.

Do you have a solution? Is a patch available?

Hi Antoine,

TestExec SL 7.0 and below installation does not work with Windows 7.
Only TestExec SL 7.1 and above works for Windows 7. This version has just launched. Do you think you want to try it out?

when will there be a evaluation-download available on the Agilent-Website?
Currently there is only V7.0 offered for download.

Hi OnlyOne,

Sorry for the late reply. I was informed that our agilent.com was having some upgrades and not able to upload any files currently. Nevertheless, the files should be available for download by end of next week.

Is Testexec 7.1 a 64-bit-version or still a 32bit-version?

Edit: Just saw it in the Taskmanager - it is 32bit.

But: Installed without problems and running (Btw, the InsertAction-Dialog is still too small)

Can i upgrade an evaluation-version to a full version after i bought a licence? Where is the section in the menu to enter a licence?
Or do i have to uninstall the evaluation version and install a new version?

Hi OnlyOne,

Yes, you are right! It is running at 32-bit even when your Windows is 64-bit.

I am sorry, the only way to change it back to license version currently is to uninstall the software and reinstall when you got the lincense copy.
