I do realize that this is a Windows NT question (E50252A), but I hope someone can help.
A coworker adjusted the login configuration of the E5052A analyzer (Windows NT) and as a result the unit no longer logs in automatically as E5052A.

I am looking for an app note that provides infos on how to restore it back to the default settings where the E5052A analyzer software starts automatically after the an automatic login to as E5052 occurred.

I did not find any useful NT info on the Microsoft web site as XP is the last official supported OS.

thanks a lot
Oliver

Each time unit is powered up, does the system require a password to access the instrument capability?
If my understand is correct, please refer to the following workaround to improve the situation.

---- How to skip the user registration ----

1. Start "Users and Passwords" menu from the Win2000 control panel.
The following key operations are to access it from the E5052A firmware.
System, "Misc Setup", "Control Panel"
2. Be sure to the "E5052" user name belongs to "Administrator" group. If not, you has to create an user account: user E5052 and pass E5052.
3. Select "E5052" and remove the check mark in the "Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer".
4. Press "Apply" button, then you will be prompted to enter passwords, which is "E5052" Then press OK to go back the main "Users and Passwords" menu and press "OK" again to complete.

FYI.
The SSA requires the user registration before starting using the SSA. Once you followed the step described in "initial registration" in the Chapter 3 on the user manual, you didn't need to enter password every time the SSA was started.
