Does anyone know where I can find service info for the HP 1332A (or 1333/34/35/36/40 etc) X-Y display? I'm sorry to post this here - I realise it's not strictly an oscilloscope since there's no timebase, but this was the 'least unsuitable' forum!
My 1332A works but could do with aligning and focus adjustment, and I'd rather not rush in blindly and make things worse.
Alternatively, does anyone know which HP spectrum/network analysers, medical instruments or scopes used the same CRT, or even contained an entire 1332? I know there used to be an ultrasound unit or similar that used one of this family of displays, but I don't know which. If a suitable instrument can be identified, it's possible there will be display alignment procedures in its service manual.
Anyway any help, no matter how small, is appreciated. Thanks for reading.
Hi Mike, Sorry about the slow reply - high winds have made our phone line crackly and I've not been able to get online until now.
I've aligned quite a few CRTs in the past, but never one with electrostatic deflection. That's partly why I want to keep it working - there's nothing quite like this technology anymore. And the inside of it looks like it only just came off the production line; gold plating everywhere, no oxidation, no discoloured components - it's beautiful! Stuff just isn't made like this anymore.
Anyway thanks for looking for a manual - I appreciate it. I'll check out the Yahoo group too. Thanks for the link!
