A list of questions about the N6841A RF sensor

What is the purpose of the reference signal? How is it utilized?
What is the recommended calibration cycle? This item is blank on the web page for this unit.
What is the sensitivity, the sensor's noise floor?
What is the true temperature operating range, data sheet has an error on it?
Is the data auto-compensated for over temperature? Is there a de-rating factor or table for temperatures exceeding the range?
Is the data recorded peak data or average data?
Is the data timestamped?
How do you communicate with a network of these?
Does each one have a unique IP address?
Does each one have some unique id that the API understands?
How many can you put on a network?
How quickly can you poll the unit for data? In a system what is the latency?
What is the distance limit for reliable data communications?
If distance is short, are repeaters recommended?
Is there any internal protection for the 20dbm max input?
Will these units function with various languages VB6, VB.net, Labview????

Yes, I was made a user lib for LabView2010, and some example application in LavView: DVB-T receiver, RDS receiver.
The using in VB6 also possible, when you create a bas module with extarnal dll calls to Agilent SAL dll-s, but there are very few math functions in VB for real good and quick application. LabView is more better.

First of all, where are you planning to use these sensors ??? I will be able to help you out on a few queries.

Q. How do you communicate with a network of these?
Ans. Over a TCP/IP network

Q. Does each one have a unique IP address?
Ans. Yes. You need to set up the sensor network.

Q. Does each one have some unique id that the API understands?
Ans. You will set the unique ID when you re setting up the sensor network Sensor Management Server will help you to set up our network in a flash.

Q. What is the distance limit for reliable data communications?
Ans. What communication media/ Method are you going to use?

Q Is there any internal protection for the 20dbm max input?
Ans Yes

Q Will these units function with various languages VB6, VB.net, Labview????
Ans The API library and documentation comes alongwith the sensor to develop your own application.
