Hi
I'm trying to get plot via gpib using KE5FX GPIB Toolkit (Spectrum Surveillance Utility). GPIB adapter is Prologic 6.5 USB-GPIB.
I have E4405B SA with A.07.06 firmware rev.
When I press "Acquire plot" I get "Please set amplitude to log div" as my amplitude is "log" with 10dB/div setting
Another E4405B with A.12.00 revision is work fine with the same settings and software

Do revision 12.00 have some updates regarding GPIB commands and I have to update my revision or if someone know other software to get the plot down to PC?

Hi -

It seems as though this KE5FX GPIB toolkit is somehow allowing you to plot with an ESA. The ESA family of spectrum analyzers by themselves do not support plotting, only printing to a PCL3 or PCL5 style printer. But, you cannot argue with success since you have an E4405B with instrument firmware version A.12.00 that seems to be working. I do not see anything in the instrument firmware history file regarding this type of inquiry. My advice would be to update the one instrument to A.12.00, but keep in mind that to go from A.07.05 to A.12.00 the analyzer must have option B72, Expanded Memory in order to update the instrument firmware. If you need instrument firmware version A.12.00, I can send you that file, but it will be ~10MB. If that is too large I can post that version to an outside server.

The first thing to do is to verify option B72.
